Veteran star Dharmendra and Hema Malini's love story has always been in the news. Dharmendra married Hema for the second time in 1980. Hema talked about becoming Dharmendra's second wife in an interview.
I don't regret anything: Hema
In an interview to Waves Retro in 2023, Hema had said about marriage, no one wants it to happen like this but sometimes such things happen. Whatever happened, you have to accept it otherwise no one can live their life like this. Every woman wants to have a husband, children and a normal family. But sometimes all this does not happen the way you want. I have no regrets about this. I am happy with myself. I have two children (Esha Deol and Ahana) whom I have given a very good upbringing.
Love is something that connects you with someone
During an interview with Bombay Times, Hema said- Love is something in which you get attached to someone. You like someone and your attachment to them always grows. Our marriage was not like that of common people, that is why maybe I am able to do everything today.
She further said- If my marriage had been according to tradition, I think I would have been nothing. Whatever I am doing today- films, dance, going to different places, being in politics. How would so much have happened if my marriage had been traditional?

Prakash Kaur is Dharmendra's first wife
Dharmendra had an arranged marriage with Prakash Kaur in 1954 at the age of 19. The couple had four children – Ajay Singh (Sunny), Vijay Singh (Bobby), Vijeta and Ajeeta Deol. When Dharmendra told Prakash about marrying Hema for the second time, she refused to divorce the actor. After this, Dharmendra converted to Islam and made Hema his second wife.
