Leading Online Desk : Skymet, a leading private organization that provides services related to weather, has predicted that the monsoon will be normal in India this year. Even so, the onset of monsoon is going to be a bit delayed. Skymet has said that India will receive 102 percent of the average rainfall this time. The margin of error is 5 percent. (Monsoon)

SkymateJatin Singh, Managing Director, said, “La Nina is fast replacing El Nino. The monsoon cycle is more dominant during La Nina years. Also, there is a history of good rains when traveling from a strong El Nino to a strong La Nina.” (Monsoon)

But there will be some setbacks in the beginning of monsoon, while in the second half, there will be good rains, Skymet said. One of the factors influencing the monsoon is The Indian Ocean Dipole. This effect will be positive this time and it will work with La Nina, so the monsoon will also be good. South, West and Northwest India will receive more than the required rainfall, while Maharashtra and Madhya Pradesh will receive adequate rainfall. In the months of July and August, there will be insufficient rainfall in Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha, West Bengal. In North East India, however, rainfall will remain less than normal.
