Had 'EVM' been there in Pakistan, there would have been no scam in elections: Imran Khan | leader









Leader Online Desk : Elections were held in February 2024 in Pakistan. No single party got majority in this election. Also, Imran Khan's Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) party had alleged that the entire election process was rigged. Now once again 'PTI' surveyor and former Prime Minister Imran Khan has commented on the election scam in Pakistan. Imran Khan, who is in jail, has also claimed that if Pakistan had electronic voting machines (EVMs), there would not have been so much corruption in the elections. (Pakistan Election)

The Election Commission of Pakistan foiled the 'EVM' scheme

Imran Khan, who was convicted in corruption case, is currently in Adiala Jail. Talking to the media here, he said that if Pakistan's election had been based on 'EVM', there would have been no scam in the election. All the results would be out in just a few hours. The Election Commission of Pakistan, some political parties and organizations rubbished the plan to introduce EVMs in the country.

Pakistan Election: Mandate stealers should be prosecuted under treason

He demanded that political party leaders who stole the public mandate in the recent general elections should be prosecuted under the charge of treason. It is impossible for the current government to handle an economy in crisis. He also denied that his party left the country during the financial crisis.

Pakistan went to polls on February 8. But no single party got majority. Finally after protracted discussions, PML-N and Pakistan Peoples Party, which won the most seats, agreed to form a coalition government. Shahbaz Sharif finally won the Prime Ministerial election on Saturday 3rd March. Shahbaz Sharif will be the 24th Prime Minister of Pakistan. He is 72 years old. He is the brother of Nawaz Sharif, who held the post of prime minister of Pakistan three times.
