New Delhi, News Agency: The Central Criminal Investigation Branch (CBI) has arrested former DHFL director Dheeraj Wadhawan in the Rs 34,000 crore bank scam case.
He was arrested in Mumbai on Monday night. He was produced in court on Tuesday. Wadhawan was sent to judicial custody. On July 19, 2022, Wadhawan's brother Kapil was also arrested in connection with this scam. The CBI had also registered a case against 75 subsidiaries related to the two. Both were granted bail. The CBI then challenged this decision in the Supreme Court.
Sources informed that the CBI has taken action after the Supreme Court rejected his bail application. Wadhawan was accused of cheating by misusing public money.
