Leader Online Desk: A terrible accident has taken place in Bemetara district of Chhattisgarh. Nine people, including five women and three children, were killed and 23 injured in a collision between a cargo vehicle and a truck. The condition of 4 injured is critical and they have been sent to Raipur AIIMS.
The accident took place near Kathia village late on Sunday (28th) night. Bhuri Nishad (age 50), Neera Sahu (age 55), Geeta Sahu (age 60), Agania Sahu (age 60), Khushboo Sahu (age 39), Madhu Sahu (age 5), Rikesh Nishad (age 6) and Twinkle The deceased have been identified as Nishad (age 6).
All the victims of the accident are residents of Pathara village and were returning from attending a family function in Tiraiya village. A senior police officer said that 23 people injured in the accident have been admitted to two hospitals. Four seriously injured have been taken to All India Institute of Medical Sciences in Raipur. The rest of the injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital in Bemetra.
