Sonali recently appeared in a podcast where she was asked if she knew that once her fan committed suicide by jumping into a pond in Bhopal just because he could not see her. Actually, Sonali had gone to Bhopal for an event and then that fan wanted to see Sonali but it could not happen and he committed suicide out of disappointment. Sonali had no idea about this and when she came to know about this in the interview, she was shocked. She said- Is this true? How can someone do this?

Sonali was asked in the interview whether there was any such incident in the 90s when her fan did something strange to her.

Sonali said, 'We used to get letters from fans. We used to think that we should test whether these letters were written with real blood or not. If this happened, I used to feel very bad. After this, we were left with only two options – either praise them or forget these letters.'

Sonali said, 'I cannot understand people's craze for many celebrities. What is the sense in putting yourself in danger just to like someone else?'

Sonali made her Bollywood debut with the 1994 film 'Aag'. Govinda was seen opposite her in the film. Apart from the film screen, she has also worked on TV. She has worked as a judge in reality shows like 'Indian Idol', 'Hindustan Ke Hunarbaaz' and 'India's Best Dramebaaz'.
