Jammu Lok Sabha Constituency is going to polls on April 26, and the educational backgrounds of the 22 candidates who have entered the election fray this time are seen to be different. It also includes 8th pass to doctors, principals and lawyers.
BJP has fielded Jugal Kishore. They are 10th pass. Congress has given ticket to Raman Bhalla against him. Bhalla holds degrees in both science and law. Apart from this, lawyers have also entered the fray. Satish Poonchi is the senior most candidate contesting from this constituency. His age is 75. He is a 10th passer and has entered the fray as an independent. National Awami United Party's Sikha Bandral is the youngest candidate. She is an Arts graduate and is 30 years old.
C contesting as an independent. D. Sharma is the Principal. He has done MA in Economics. Apart from this, he has obtained other degrees such as BEd, BA, LLB. Independent candidate Parsin Singh has studied up to class 12th in Science. Another independent candidate Dr. Surendra Singh is a renowned surgeon from Jammu. Dr. Prince Raina has a series of titles. MBBS, MS, DNB, MCH etc degrees are in his name. He is also contesting as an independent. Jammu and Kashmir Nationalist People's Front candidate Swami Divya Nand and another independent candidate Bansilal have barely passed Class VIII.
Taking into account the educational background of all these candidates, the election in Jammu Lok Sabha constituency will be colorful.
Jugal Kishore Sharma all set for hat-trick
Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh activist Jugal Kishore Sharma first won from this constituency in 2014. After this, he was again successful in the last election. This time they are ready to register a winning hat-trick. This time again BJP has shown faith in him. He has expressed the belief that after defeating the Congress candidate Bhalla, he is all set to reach the Lok Sabha for the third time in a row.
