'ED' inquiry of candidates should not be held after election: Kerala High Court orders | leader









Thiruvananthapuram; News Agency: The Kerala High Court has observed that the ED's investigation during the campaigning of the candidates in the Lok Sabha elections is not justified. It mentions that they can conduct all inquiries after the completion of the election process. The court gave this direction on a petition related to Thomas Isaac, a former minister and an election candidate from Pathanamthitta.

About a month is left for the election period to be completed. It is not proper to inquire the candidates during this period. The judge said that the inquiry can be done after the completion of the election process. T. R. Ravi said.

The ED explained that there was a need to conduct some inquiries regarding Thomas Isaac. After that the court has given these directions. ED's counsel said during the hearing that Thomas Isaak should appear at his convenience. It has been remarked that if the court does so, they can take the position that they are not bound to appear till that date.
