The friendship between Lalu Prasad Yadav and Rajesh Ranjan aka Pappu Yadav, who were once special friends, has now turned into enmity. Lalu did not allow Pappu to get a ticket from Purnia because of the political future of his son Tejashwi. Therefore, this constituency is in discussion all over the country. In this constituency, Baahubali leader Pappu Yadav has filed as an independent and challenged the RJD and alternatively Lalu Prasad.
The issue of nepotism in Indian politics is not new. In any family a child is called by the name 'Pappu'. At present, a different conflict is being seen in the political arena over this pappu. The first name in this is Bihar's Baahubali leader Rajesh Ranjan alias Pappu Yadav and the second is Congress MP Rahul Gandhi. He has often been mocked as Pappu. Controversial leader in politics Lalu Prasad Yadav has declared his Chiranjeev Tejashwi as his successor as per dynastic custom and Lalu is worried about when he will get the Chief Ministership of Bihar. A similar situation can be seen in Maharashtra as well. Uddhav Thackeray took the hand of Congress after Shiv Sena lost power. At present they are also curious about when Aditya Thackeray will become the Chief Minister. Senior leader Sharad Pawar's situation is no different. Pawar is worried about the political future of daughter Supriya Sule. The most striking of these incidents seems to be taking place in Bihar.
Purnia Constituency is the most discussed
Purnia Lok Sabha constituency in Bihar is currently the most talked about. The local leader Pappu Yadav was given political lessons by Lalu Prasad Yadav and Mulayam Singh Yadav. Born into a zamindar family, Pappu Yadav was never short of means. Lalu Prasad and Pappu Yadav have been friends since 1980. Pappu was then accused of stealing ballot boxes for Lalu Prasad. Since then he became known as Baahubali leader. In 1990, he reached the Bihar Legislative Assembly as an independent MLA. Then his next target was the Lok Sabha. At that time, his hooliganism had reached such a climax that people were afraid to even mention his name. During this time he was elected to the Lok Sabha five times. Later, Pappu was sentenced to seventeen years in the murder case of Communist leader Ajit Sarkar. He was in prison for a long time. Meanwhile, his MP was also cancelled. Finally in 2013 Patna High Court acquitted him due to lack of strong evidence. After this, he won the Lok Sabha election for the fifth time in 2014 from Madhepur on RJD ticket.
Formation of own independent party
After winning on the RJD ticket, Pappu Yadav started feeling the difficulties of Lalu Prasad. Due to this, the two began to fall apart. Tejashwi also began to feel uncomfortable with Pappu Yadav's success. From this controversy, Pappu formed his own 'Jan Adhikar Party'. In 2019, he contested the election on the same party's symbol. However, they were defeated. After this he started to project himself as the savior of the poor. He also published his autobiography with the name 'Drohakal Ka Pathik'. He had organized a grand program for it in Delhi.
In this autobiography, he has narrated the political career of Lalu Prasad. He writes, after coming to power in Bihar, Lalu Prasad only preached the welfare of the poor. In fact, he wanted to wield power only for his own family. After going to jail in fodder scam, he made his wife Rabidevi Chief Minister. Subsequently, he left no stone unturned to politically rehabilitate all his daughters and sons. Not only this, but in order to keep his own monopoly intact, Lalu Prasad entrusted the responsibility of breaking up other parties in the state to some selected leaders including his own two brothers-in-law. All of them were notorious for murder, rape, kidnapping, extortion, theft. This time Pappu Yadav has filed as an independent from Purnia. How successful they will be will be clear only after the results of the Lok Sabha elections are announced.
