Divya did not get work after Shahrukh's recommendation: Mani Ratnam had said- Manisha looks like Koirala, we will not be able to cast her in the film

Producer-director Mani Ratnam's film 'Dil Se' is one of the best films of Shahrukh Khan's career. Actress Divya Dutta also wanted to work in this film. Shahrukh Khan had also talked to Mani Ratnam about Divya for this film, but the director refused to work with Divya.

Apart from Shahrukh Khan, Manisha Koirala and Preity Zinta played important roles in 'Dil Se'. In an interview with Siddharth Kannan, Divya Dutta revealed how the film's director Mani Ratnam did not give her work in the film even after Shahrukh's request.

Divya Dutta said- I took Shahrukh's help for casting in 'Dil Se'. He talked to Mani Ratnam, but he refused saying that Manisha Koirala and I look very similar. He will not be able to cast her in the film.

Divya Dutta got a chance to work with Shahrukh Khan in the film 'Veer Zara'. Divya Dutta said- When we were working together in 'Veer Zara', Shahrukh helped me understand the camera angles. He said that I will not be there on every set, you will have to learn to take care of yourself.

I was worried that I would be typecast as the hero's sister after Veer-Zaara. That's the mentality in our industry. Everyone runs after the one who looks good and leaves the rest behind.
