South superstar Dhanush bought a new bungalow in Chennai's posh area Poes Garden last year. The price of this house is said to be around Rs 150 crore. Dhanush's bungalow is near the house of superstar Rajinikanth and former Tamil Nadu CM late Jayalalithaa.
Now recently Dhanush shared an anecdote from his childhood while talking about the ongoing debate on the ownership of such a large property. The actor also told why he bought a house in this area.
Dhanush has been the son-in-law of superstar Rajinikanth. He married the superstar's daughter Aishwarya in 2004. After 18 years, both of them got divorced in the year 2022.
Shouldn't a person like me buy a house in Poes Garden?
Dhanush spoke about this on stage at the pre-release event of his upcoming film 'Raayan' in Hyderabad. Dhanush said, 'If I had known that buying a house in Poes Garden would become such a big issue, I would have just bought a small apartment. Should a person like me not buy a house in Poes Garden? Should a man who was born on the street live there all his life?'

'I have gifted this house to 16 year old Dhanush'
At the event, Dhanush said, 'Let me tell you a small story about why I bought a house in Poes Garden. When I was 16 years old, I went to see Rajinikanth's house with my friends. I stopped the bike and saw – on one side is Rajini Sir's house and on the other side is Jayalalithaa Amma's house.
I thought to myself that one day, somehow I too can buy at least a small house in a posh area like Poes Garden. Today I have gifted the house in Poes Garden to that 16-year-old Venkatesh Prabhu (his real name).'

People reminded me of the film background
After this video of Dhanush from the event went viral, people started trolling the actor. Users reminded the actor that he is not an outsider but the son of Kasturi Raja, a famous director of South.
Some users said that Dhanush never lived on the streets. He was born in a good family.
The film 'Raayan' has been directed by Dhanush himself. He will also be in the lead role in it.

On the work front, Dhanush's film 'Raayan' is releasing on July 26. He has also directed it. The actor is currently busy with Ilaiyaraaja's biopic.
Apart from this, he is working with Anand L Rai for the third time in Bollywood for the film 'Tere Ishq Mein'.
