Scenes of Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala with Indira Gandhi have also been included in the trailer of the film Emergency.
Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) and Jathedar of Sri Akal Takht Sahib have demanded a ban on the release of BJP MP from Mandi parliamentary seat of Himachal Pradesh and actress Kangana Ranaut's upcoming movie Emergency. The film has a direct reference to former Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
,
SGPC President Advocate Harjinder Singh Dhami has alleged that the film 'Emergency', which portrays the character of Sikhs in a wrong way, should be banned immediately. This film has been made by actress Kangana Ranaut, who is in controversies due to anti-Sikh and anti-Punjab language, with the intention of deliberately defaming the character of Sikhs. Which the Sikh community cannot tolerate.
Advocate Dhami said that this is a despicable act of insulting the country by making an anti-Sikh story about the great martyrs of 1984. He said that the country can never forget the anti-Sikh cruelty of 1984 and Jarnail Singh Khalsa Bhindranwale has been declared a national martyr by Sri Akal Takht Sahib, while Kangana Ranaut's film is trying to kill his character.
Kangana accused of inciting the sentiments of Sikhs
Advocate Dhami said that Kangana Ranaut has often been deliberately saying things that provoke the sentiments of Sikhs. Instead of taking action against her, the government is protecting her. The government should file a case against Kangana Ranaut for provoking the religious sentiments of Sikhs through the film Emergency.
Expressing strong objection, Dhami said that it is clear from the trailer of the film Emergency that the character of Sikhs has been deliberately misrepresented as terrorists, which is part of a deep conspiracy.
A film based on a Sikh activist was banned
Dhami said that on one hand, the release of the film 'Punjab 95' based on the life of Sikh activist Bhai Jaswant Singh Khalra, who spoke about human rights, was not approved by the censor board even after 85 cuts. Whereas the Emergency film, which presents wrong facts about the Sikh community, is being released. These double standards are not in the national interest, so the government needs to think about this.
Demand to include Sikh members in the censor board
Advocate Dhami has demanded the inclusion of Sikh members in the Central Film Censor Board. One-sided decisions are being taken due to the absence of a Sikh member. The SGPC has passed a resolution several times in its general meeting demanding that a representative of the Sikhs must be included in the Central Film Censor Board, but sadly the government is not implementing it.
The era of terrorism was shown in the film, Bhindranwale's character was also kept
Kangana shared the trailer of this film on her social media account a few days ago. In which the era of terrorism in Punjab in the 1980s has also been shown.
A character named Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala has also been created in the film, who is considered a saint by the fundamentalists. Sarbjit Khalsa believes that Operation Blue Star has also been depicted in the film, which was carried out to kill Jarnail Singh Bhindranwala.
The film Aandhi was banned in 1975
Earlier, in 1975, the film Aandhi was banned by the Indira Gandhi government during the Emergency. The film was released shortly before the Emergency, which caused sleepless nights for the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi and Congress leaders. The film was accused of tarnishing the image of the Congress party. After the film was banned, lead actress Suchitra Sen never appeared in any Hindi film.
There were rumours that the film was based on Indira Gandhi's relationship with her ex-husband, but the truth was that Suchitra Sen played the role of Aarti Devi, whose look was inspired by Indira Gandhi. It was later released in 1977 after the Janata Party came to power.
SGPC alleges that an attempt was made to portray Sikhs as terrorists.
Kangana Ranaut has been in controversies before as well
1. Farmer Agitation From attached Comment But yes paid Case
Kangana has been making harsh comments on the opposition parties of BJP and the movements run by them. During the farmers' movement, she had said about the women protesting that these people come to the protest by taking Rs 100 each.
A defamation case was also filed against her in Punjab court for this. Not only this, Kangana was slapped by a CISF woman employee at Chandigarh airport for the farmers' protest. After which the controversy escalated a lot.
2. Karan Jauhar To tell chuki Movie Mafia
Kangana Ranaut has been in the news not only for her films but also for her fights with many celebrities. She has been speaking openly against the nepotism prevalent in the Bollywood industry. Nepotism kids have been her target and she has been raising her voice for the outsiders.
Kangana once called famous Bollywood director and Dharma Production Company owner Karan Johar a flag bearer of movie mafia and nepotism on his show Koffee with Karan. Kangana had said that Karan Johar only promotes star kids and does not allow artists coming from small towns to survive in Bollywood.
