New Delhi, Leading News Service: Delhi court in Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BRS leader K. Kavita's judicial custody has been extended till May 7.
Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal is currently in jail in connection with the liquor scandal in the capital Delhi. Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Tuesday sentenced Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, BRS leader K. The judicial custody of Kavita and Aam Aadmi Party's alleged Goa election fund manager Chanpreet Singh has been extended till May 7.
Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was arrested on March 21 in connection with the Delhi liquor abuse case. The related policy was also cancelled. All the three people were produced before the court through vigilance system in the case related to this policy. The court's decision to extend Arvind Kejriwal's custody came a day after the court rejected Arvind Kejriwal's plea to have 15-minute daily medical consultations with his doctor in the presence of Arvind Kejriwal's wife Sunita Kejriwal.
The Delhi court also directed that necessary medical treatment be provided to Kejriwal and if any special consultation is required, the Tihar Jail authorities can seek services by contacting a medical board comprising endocrinologist and diabetologist through the director of AIIMS. Meanwhile, Kejriwal was given a “low dose” of insulin on the advice of AIIMS doctors on Monday evening. The Tihar Jail administration said the dose was administered after his blood sugar level spiked on Monday evening.
