New Delhi, Leading News Service: A court on Saturday (April 20) argued that AAP leader and former Delhi Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is in jail in the liquor policy scam case, will tamper with witnesses and evidence if he is granted bail. Manish Sisodia had applied for bail to the court. A hearing on that bail application was held in Delhi's Rouse Avenue court on Saturday. The court has reserved the decision in this matter and the court will deliver the verdict on April 30. (Delhi Liquor Policy Case)
Manish Sisodia is in Tihar Jail in case of liquor policy violation. He was arrested by CBI on 26 February 2023. After that, ED also registered a case against him. Sisodia had applied for bail in the Delhi High Court, the Supreme Court. But every time his petition was rejected. After that, he again applied for bail. It was heard on Saturday (April 20). But the verdict was reserved.
During the hearing, the CBI said, “Sisodia is the main accused in the liquor policy malpractice case. So if they are granted bail, they will destroy the evidence in the case which may affect the investigation. Investigation of many important points is still in preliminary stage.”
Also, CBI, while pleading in the court, said, “Sisodia can influence the witnesses. The High Court and the Supreme Court rejected his bail application. The court also accepted that he was the mastermind. Such circumstances, if bail is granted at this stage, will affect the investigation.” So it will be clear on April 30 whether Sisodia will get bail or not. (Delhi Liquor Policy Case)
