Delhi | Delhi dust storm, heavy rain, two dead, 23 injured









Leader Online Desk: Delhi-NCR witnessed heavy rainfall and dust storm on Friday night. Two died as trees were uprooted at many places. A total of 23 people were injured. Delhi Police has informed that buildings have been damaged due to the storm in some parts of Delhi.

Delhi Police received 152 calls related to uprooted trees. There were 55 calls related to damage to buildings. Also received 202 calls about power outage. The weather in Delhi took a turn for the worse after a dust storm hit Delhi and surrounding areas last night.

Sources informed that 9 flights including 2 Air India flights from Delhi airport have been diverted to Jaipur due to sudden change in weather here.

Wind gusts of 60-70 km per hour caused heavy rainfall in Delhi. There were incidents of uprooting of trees in many places. It caused a traffic jam.

The Meteorological Department has said that due to Western Disturbance, there has been a sudden change in Delhi's weather. The temperature in Delhi had increased for the past few days. Also the amount of humidity is more. But due to rain, dew has formed in the atmosphere. The Meteorological Department has predicted rain in Delhi on Saturday and Sunday.
