New Delhi, Leading News Service: On Tuesday (May 7), the Election Commission instructed 'X' to delete the Karnataka BJP's video related to Muslim reservation. Karnataka BJP had posted a video on X on the issue of Muslim reservation in the state. This instruction has been given after a complaint was filed with the Election Commission regarding that video.
BJP tried to surround Congress on the issue of Muslim reservation in Karnataka. For this, a video was posted from the X account of Karnataka BJP BJP4Karnataka. A complaint was filed in the Election Commission against that video. The Election Commission then took action and instructed X to delete the Karnataka BJP video post.
In a notice given to the nodal officer of 'X', the Election Commission said, “The post made by the X account BJP4Karnataka is in violation of the framework of law. An FIR has already been registered in this case.” This post has been notified to be deleted under Section 79(3)(b) of the Information Technology Act and Rule 3(1)(d) of the Information Technology Rules 2021. The Election Commission has also attached a link to the post and a copy of the FIR in the relevant notification letter.
