Actress Deepika Singh recently made her comeback on television with the serial 'Mangal Lakshmi'. Deepika is seen in the role of a strong but reserved homemaker in the show. According to the actress, this character is quite different from the characters she has played till now.
This character is helping me become a better person
During an exclusive conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, Deepika says, 'I would like to thank the channel for trusting me with this show. This is very different from anything I have done before. Till now I have played the role of a strong woman on screen. My character in this show too is strong in its own way. She is the backbone of her family. But, she never demands credit for the work she does.
This character of mine is completely selfless. By the way, I have also worked on myself for this character. In real life I am on my way to becoming selfless. I feel this character is helping me become a better person.
Apart from being an actor, I am also a classical dancer.
On the question of returning to TV after 5 years, the actress said that during this time she was exploring her passion of dance. He said, 'Actually, apart from being an actor, I am also a classical dancer. During this break, I completed my studies in classical dance. I took classical dance lessons. Its examination is also conducted like board exam.
One has to sit in the examination center and write papers, give practical exams and attend viva. I finished that course and then agreed to this show.
Apart from TV, I also worked in films.
Let us tell you, in the year 2022, Deepika made her Bollywood debut with the film 'Titu Ambani'. Sharing her experience of working on both the platforms, the actress further said, 'Each platform may have a different way of working. Apart from TV, I have also worked in films. In TV you have to repeat every scene.
You have to repeat your line for a shot. What appears to be a natural shot in the first shot gradually disappears. Being an experienced actress, I always try to give my best.
After the film, I also waited for the web series. He further said, 'In a film you have to shoot for less days. But, its preparation starts several months in advance. A lot of work is done on the backend. Sometimes 6-7 months are spent in workshops and readings. After the film, I also waited for the web series.
Finally a show like 'Mangal Lakshmi' came. Thought this should definitely be done because this is a very beautiful story. My audience will like me very much in this.
Let us tell you, Deepika became famous with the role of IPS officer Sandhya in the TV show 'Diya Aur Baati Hum'. She was seen in the serial 'Kavach' in the year 2019.
