Leader Online Desk : A court in Rajasthan has sentenced two brothers to death for raping a 14-year-old girl and burning her alive.
The victim from Bhilwara district in Rajasthan went missing while going to graze cattle. A few hours later, her skeleton was found in a brick kiln in the village. The police arrested the accused in this case. After this, the murderous brothers confessed that they had raped the girl and burnt her alive.
Two hanged, seven acquitted
Special public prosecutor Mahavir Singh Kishnawat told PTI that the accused Kalu Lal and his brother Kanha were convicted by the POCSO court for the crime committed in August 2023. After the rape, it was clear from the forensic evidence that the minor girl was alive before being thrown into the furnace. After that he was sentenced to death. The court also acquitted seven other accused in this case. Kishnawat has clarified that this acquittal will be challenged in the High Court.
