Leader Online Desk: Pandit Laxmikant Dixit, the chief acharya of the Pranapratistha ceremony of the Ram temple built in Ayodhya, passed away. He breathed his last at the age of 91. Laxmikant Dixit was the senior Acharya of Sangveda College, Meerghat, Varanasi. He was known as a great scholar of Yajurveda in Kashi.
Laxmikant Dixit played an important role in the pranapratistha puja of the grand Ram temple in Ayodhya. Puja was performed under his guidance and chanting. A team of 121 Vedic Brahmins performed the Abhishekam of Shri Rama during Pranapratistha. These Vedic Brahmins who participated in the consecration were led by Pandit Laxmikant Dixit. During Ramlalla's Abhishekam, 5 people were in the sanctum sanctorum along with him. Pandit Laxmikant Dixit was originally from Solapur district. His family has been living in Kashi for many generations.
