Recently David Dhawan revealed that Salman Khan was not excited to work with Govinda in the film 'Partner'.

In an interview, David revealed that he had suggested to producer Sohail Khan to cast Salman and Govinda together. Sohail agreed to this, but Salman was not very happy with this idea.

In an interview with Bollywood Bubble, David Dhawan said, 'I asked Sohail Khan if we can get Govinda and Salman bhai together? Sohail said yes. When I told Salman about this, he was not that excited. I said, 'Come on yaar, let's do it, it will be a big hit.'

After this, while shooting the film in Bangkok, Salman told me, 'David yaar, there is no use in fighting this.'

In the 1990s, the pairing of David Dhawan and Govinda was a superhit one. The two did about 17 hit films together. David Dhawan believes that he could have worked the best with Govinda.

He said, 'I was the only one who could handle him. He always respected me a lot.' When asked if Govinda used to come late on his sets too, David said without explaining much, 'My work was always completed.'

David further said that Anil Kapoor was a little angry on the sets of the film 'Deewana Mastana'. Anil believed that during his vacation, Govinda and David had shot a lot of the film.

David Dhawan and Govinda have done many hit films together. These include films like 'Raja Babu', 'Coolie No. 1', 'Hero No. 1', 'Aankhen', 'Saajan Chale Sasural' and many more.
