Court rejects Kejriwal's plea challenging ED's arrest | leader









New Delhi; Leading News Service: The Delhi High Court on Tuesday dismissed Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's plea challenging his arrest by the ED in a money laundering case related to the liquor policy scam. The court said that this petition is not for bail.

While hearing the petition, Justice Swarnkant Sharma said that the documents available with the ED show Kejriwal's involvement in the liquor policy scam. The ED has recorded the testimony of some witnesses in this case and doubting these witnesses is tantamount to doubting the court itself. Decisions are given in court only on the basis of law. The court upheld Kejriwal's remand order saying that no decision was taken on political grounds.

As Chief Minister, Kejriwal has no privilege. Therefore, the court also warned that they will not be exempted from any investigation. Kejriwal's role in the use and concealment of money in the liquor policy scam. The court also said that his involvement in the crime as the convener of Aam Aadmi Party is clear. ED's lawyer S informed that the court has examined all the documents and evidence of ED and given its decision. V. Raju said.
