Closing Bell | Sensex closes at 72,500, 'he' shares are booming, what happened in the market today? | leader


Leaders Online: Volatility was seen in the stock market today in the Thursday trading session. Sensex rose 195 points to close at 72,500. While the Nifty settled at 21,982 with an increase of 31 points. At the sectoral level, all indices except healthcare closed in the green. Banks, Capital Goods, Metals, Power gained 0.5-1 percent. The BSE midcap index rose 0.8 percent and the smallcap index rose 0.5 percent. Buying in auto, metals and government banking stocks supported the market. While some sales pressure remained in the IT sector. (Closing Bell)

Top Gainers, Top Losers

IndusInd Bank, M&M, Maruti, Asian Paints, Nestle India, Power Grid, HCL Tech, SBI, Ultratech Cement, Titan gained on Sensex. TCS, Tata Motors, Bharti Airtel shares fell.

Adani Enterprises, Tata Consumer, IndusInd Bank, Britannia, Adani Ports remained the top gainers on Nifty. While Apollo Hospital, Bajaj Auto, LTIMindtree, Eicher Motors, UPL were the top losers. Nifty Bank, Nifty Financial Services gained 0.50 percent each.

Jio Financial shares on the rise

Shares of Jio Financial Services (JFSL) rose 4.4 percent to Rs 321 in today's trade on BSE. After that it came down to Rs.314. The stock has gained 40 percent in the last three months. (Jio Financial Services (JFSL) shares)

Paytm's decline for the third consecutive session

Shares of Paytm's parent One97 Communication fell 5 percent to an intraday low of Rs 385.90. The stock was down 4.59 percent at Rs 387.50 on BSE in afternoon trade. These shares have fallen for the third consecutive session. (Shares of One 97 Communications)
