Raipur; News Agency: Naxalites clashed with DRG, STF jawans on Tuesday morning in Takameta area of Abuzmad of Narayanpur on the Chhattisgarh-Maharashtra border. 10 naxalites were killed in the encounter. Among the dead are 2 women Naxalites. All the bodies have been taken into custody.
A large quantity of arms and explosives including AK-47 have also been seized. The search operation is said to be continuing even after the encounter. The police had received intelligence that a large number of Naxalites had gathered in Takameta. Based on that, soldiers left for this area late on Monday night. As soon as they reached the area on Tuesday morning, the Naxalites started firing on them. The jawans also fired in response. The identification of the dead Naxalites is currently underway.
