The National Center for Seismology (NCS) is the nodal agency of the Government of India for monitoring earthquake activity in the country. The agency recorded a magnitude of 5.7 on the Richter scale in China. The epicenter of the quake was at a depth of 10 km (6.2 miles), the agency said. Although the magnitude of the earthquake was high, no loss of life or property was reported, local media also explained. (China Earthquake)
