Central government takes serious note of fire incident in Kuwait

New Delhi, Leading News Service: 41 Indians died in a building fire in Kuwait. The central government has taken serious notice of this incident. Prime Minister Narendra Modi and External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar has expressed grief in this matter. Also, Minister of State for External Affairs Kirtivardhan Singh has been immediately dispatched to Kuwait.

Arab Times has reported that people from Kerala, Tamil Nadu and North India were killed in this accident. The building that caught fire is Malayali businessman K. G. Sheikh Fahad, Deputy Prime Minister of Kuwait informed that it is owned by Abraham and the laborers were living on rent in this place.

External Affairs Ministry Spokesperson Randhir Jaiswal informed that the Prime Minister directed Kirtivardhan Singh to go to Kuwait to coordinate with the local authorities for repatriation of the bodies of the deceased and the treatment of the injured. He said that all the information about this accident will be revealed soon.

Condoling the incident, Prime Minister Modi said, “I share the grief of those who lost loved ones in the fire tragedy in Kuwait City. I pray for the speedy recovery of the injured. The Indian Embassy is closely monitoring the incident and its officials are working to help the injured.” Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar also expressed grief over this.
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi has also expressed grief over this incident. Rahul Gandhi said that my condolences are with the bereaved families and the condition of our workers in the Middle East is a matter of serious concern.
