Cancellation of NET Exam; Centre's decision likely to be paperless, re-examination soon

New Delhi; News Agency: The UGC-NET exam conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) on Tuesday was canceled on Wednesday. The decision was taken after the University Grants Commission (UGC) received an alert from cyber security about the NET exam malpractice.

While the inquiry into the malpractices in NEET-UGC is going on, it is likely that the malpractices in NET-UGC will come to light. The NET exam was held on Tuesday (18th) itself and it is embarrassing to cancel it on the next day. The examination was conducted in two sessions across the country. UGC received information about the exam malpractice from cyber security. As there is a possibility of paper break even in the NET exam, it has been decided to cancel the NET exam and conduct the exam afresh. Sources informed that the new exam schedule will be announced soon.
