Famous singer Diljit Dosanjh recently performed at Rogers Centre in Toronto. During this time, he created history by selling tickets of a Punjabi artist's show at the fastest speed. Diljit got the biggest surprise when Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau arrived at his concert.
He met Diljit during the show. Diljit has shared the video of this meeting in his Instagram stories in which Justin is seen hugging him. Justin met Diljit's team and crew. During this, everyone cheered each other and said, Punjabis have come.

Sharing the video, Diljit wrote in the caption, 'Diversity is Canada's strength. Prime Minister Trudeau came to see history being made. We sold out all the tickets at Rogers Center'.
Justin also shared the same video on his Instagram feed. He also shared pictures with Diljit and his team. He wrote, 'Stopped by Rogers Centre to wish Diljit luck before his show. Canada is a great country – where a boy from Punjab can make history and sell out all the tickets in the stadium. Diversity is not just our strength. It's a superpower.'
Diljit used to sing kirtan in gurudwara once
Talking about the singer's life, Diljit Dosanjh, born in Dosanjh Kalan, Jalandhar, could not study much. He studied till 10th standard while living in Ludhiana. Due to the poor financial condition of the family, he could not study further. He turned to singing after listening to Kirtan in the Gurudwara.
He took training in classical music at the local Gurudwara in Ludhiana and started singing kirtan. Everyone liked Diljit's voice while singing kirtan, so people encouraged him to sing outside. After this, Diljit came out of the Gurudwara and started singing at weddings and ceremonies. In this way, he reached the Punjabi music industry.

Entry in Bollywood with 'Udta Punjab'
In 2004, Diljit released his first album 'Ishq Da Uda Adda'. In 2011, he debuted with the film 'The Lion of Punjab'. The film flopped but one of his songs was a superhit. For the first time, a non-Bollywood singer's song reached the top in BBC's Asian Download Chat. In 2016, he entered Bollywood with the film 'Udta Punjab'.
After this, he acted in Phillauri, Soorma, Arjun Patiala, Good News and Sooraj Pe Mangal Bhaari. During the lockdown, he released his music album 'G.O.A.T' which was a huge hit.
Even after this, many of his songs proved to be hits. This year he was seen in the film 'Amar Singh Chamkila' in which his work was highly praised. Directed by Imtiaz Ali, this film featured Parineeti Chopra opposite Diljit.
