Leader Online Desk: The bail application of former Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia, who is under arrest in the Delhi Liquor Policy case, was heard today (May 21) in the Delhi High Court. The court has extended his custody till May 31. The court had reserved the order in this case on May 14 after arguments.
Sisodia was arrested on 26 February 2023 by the CBI for alleged corruption in the formulation and implementation of the Delhi Liquor Policy 2021-22. They have been in custody since then. Sisodia was arrested on March 9, 2023 in a money laundering case by 'ED' after interrogation in Tihar Jail. Sisodia resigned from the Delhi Cabinet on 28 February 2023. The Delhi government had implemented the liquor policy on 17 November 2021; But it was canceled at the end of September 2022 due to corruption allegations.
