Leader Online Desk: Senior BJP Leader and Former Chief Minister B. S. Yeddyurappa has been booked under the POCSO Act for sexual harassment. But the Karnataka High Court has granted protection from arrest till June 17 on Friday. The Karnataka High Court has clarified that Yeddyurappa will not be arrested before the June 17 hearing.
Former Chief Minister of Karnataka B. S. A non-bailable arrest warrant was issued against Yeddyurappa in the POCSO case on Thursday (13). But during today's hearing, the Karnataka court said that the proceedings for the arrest and detention of Yeddyurappa have been stayed till the next date of hearing. A complaint of sexual assault of a minor girl has been registered against Yeddyurappa, and the CID is investigating the matter.

However, as Yeddyurappa did not cooperate with the probe, a fast track court issued a warrant against him. The CID officials had issued a notice to Yeddyurappa to appear for questioning on Wednesday (12). But Yeddyurappa refused to appear immediately. He has also petitioned the High Court to quash the case against him.
What are the charges against Yeddyurappa?
In February, a woman with her minor daughter went to Yeddyurappa's bungalow to seek help. At that time, Yeddyurappa first discussed with both of them in the hall. After that, he took the girl to a separate room saying that he wanted to have a separate discussion with the girl. After 12 to 15 minutes they came out. The girl then told her mother that Yeddyurappa had molested her. Accordingly, on March 3, a case was registered against Yeddyurappa for sexually abusing a minor girl.
