Leader Online Desk: The Income Tax Department has claimed in the Delhi High Court that the Congress party has hidden income of Rs 520 crores. Zoaib Hussain, a lawyer of the Income Tax Department, has referred to this income as Escaped Income. Escaped Income means income not shown at the time of filing return. Hussain said, “The income tax department has not violated any provisions of the law. But from the information collected by the Income Tax Department, the income of 520 crores is Escaped Income.” (Congress Escaped Income).
The Congress party has filed a petition against the Income Tax Department. The Income Tax Department has started revaluation of income tax payable by the Congress party. The party has filed petitions against this. 3 of these petitions were pending in the Delhi High Court today. In the three financial years of 2014-15, 2015-2016, 2016-2017, these petitions are expected to be decided in one or two days regarding income tax. Bar and Benchsaid in the news. Abhishek Manu Singhvi appeared on behalf of the Congress. He claimed that the Income Tax Department is violating the provisions of the Income Tax Act. The Income Tax Department has started a reassessment of income tax for the last seven years in total against the Congress. The petitions against the 3-year revaluation will be heard in the court today, while the petitions against the other 4-year revaluation will be heard on March 21.
The Income Tax Department had issued a demand notice of 105 crores to the Congress party, the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal refused to stay it. The Congress party had filed a petition in the Delhi High Court against this. This petition was rejected by the Delhi High Court on March 13, a petition of the Congress party. While rejecting this petition, the High Court had instructed the Income Tax Appellate Tribunal to file a fresh application. The demand notice issued by the Income Tax Department is 135 crores with interest.
