The relationship between film producer Boney Kapoor's son Arjun Kapoor and Salman Khan has been sour for a long time. In a recent interview, Boney has given credit for his son's growth to Salman Khan. Boney told that Salman had guided Arjun in the beginning of his career.
In the initial phase of his career, Arjun Kapoor used to call Salman Khan as his mentor.
Salman himself had said – Arjun will become an actor
In an interview, Boney said, 'I was separated from Mona (Boney's first wife and Arjun's mother) and I had no idea that Arjun wanted to become an actor. It was Salman who called me and said that Arjun will become an actor one day. It was Salman who guided him. It was ensured that Arjun lost his weight because till then he was very healthy.
In media reports, Malaika Arora was said to be the reason for the sourness in the relationship between Salman and Arjun. Malaika is the ex-wife of Salman's brother Arbaaz, whom Arjun Kapoor is dating.
'Salman has a big role in Arjun's growth'
Boney further said, 'In Arjun's case I would like to give credit to Salman only. No matter what anyone says or even if today the two are not on good terms, I mean their bond may not be that good, but Salman always gave his best. Salman has a big role in Arjun's growth. Be it his looks or acting. Salman has always helped my son.
A few years ago, at an event, Boney had showered some love on Salman. Whereas Salman ignored Boney's son Arjun Kapoor standing nearby.
I still love Salman: Boney
During the interview, Boney was asked whether there has been any change in the relationship between her and Salman because of her son? On this Boney said, 'It did not make any difference to our relationship. I still love him today. Even today I feel that there are very few people like him. He is a very big hearted person and gives me a lot of respect.
Let us tell you that Salman Khan's sinking career got a boost again with the film 'Wanted' released in 2009. This film was produced by Boney Kapoor himself.
Boney's next film 'Maidan' will clash with Akshay-Tiger starrer 'Bade Miyan Chhote Miyan' at the box office on April 10.
On the work front, Boney's upcoming film is 'Maidan'. This Ajay Devgan starrer film was being postponed for the last several years. Now it will be released on 10th April on the occasion of Eid.
