New Delhi, Udari News Service: The statistics of which political party received through electoral bonds (Electoral Bonds) has come out. The BJP received a total of Rs 6,986.5 crore in donations from election bonds and the party received the highest amount of Rs 2,555 crore in 2019-20. This has come to light from the data of the Election Commission (EC). Trinamool collected Rs 1,397 crore while Congress collected a total of Rs 1,334.35 crore through election bonds. According to Central Election Commission data, Biju Janata Dal has received Rs 944.5 crore, YSR Congress Rs 442.8 crore and TDP Rs 181.35 crore through electoral bonds. The DMK in Tamil Nadu received Rs 656.5 crore through election bonds, including Rs 509 crore from Santiago Martin-led Future Gaming. At the same time, it was revealed that Trinamool Congress received Rs 1,397 crore and BRS Rs 1,322 crore through electoral bonds.
According to Election Commission data, Samajwadi Party (SP) received Rs 14.05 crore, Akali Dal Rs 7.26 crore, AIADMK Rs 6.05 crore, National Conference Rs 50 lakh through election bonds.
New data on Electoral Bonds released by Election Commission
The Election Commission has released new data on electoral bonds on Sunday. This data was submitted by the Commission to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope. The court later asked the commission to make this data public. It is believed that these details relate to the period before April 12, 2019.
The Central Election Commission had last week made public the details related to the election bonds after the above date. The commission said in a statement that political parties filed data related to election bonds in sealed covers as per Supreme Court's interim order dated April 12, 2019.
The Commission said, 'The data obtained from the political parties was submitted to the Supreme Court in a sealed envelope. On March 15, 2024, as per the Supreme Court's order, the court registry returned the physical copies along with digital records in pen drives in sealed covers. The Commission has today (17th) uploaded the data received from the Supreme Court Registry regarding Electoral Bonds in digital form on its website.
