Bipasha Basu made her Bollywood debut with the 2001 film Ajnabee. In the initial phase of her career, Bipasha's original voice was not used in films. Her dubbing in films like Raaz, Gunaah, Jism was done by dubbing artist Mona Ghosh. Unhappy with the voice being changed, Bipasha Basu once threatened Mona Ghosh.
Recently, in The Motor Mouth podcast, dubbing artist Mona Ghosh revealed that Bipasha Basu was not happy to know that she dubs for her. In the conversation, she was asked what kind of reaction she got from the actresses for whom she has given voice. To this Mona said, some used to say that we don't understand, how do you do this, some used to say that if you dub for me again, I will kill you. When she was asked who that actress was, she replied – Bipasha Basu.
Mona has given voice for Bipasha Basu in the films Raaz and Jism.
Further Mona Ghosh said, maybe she did not realize that it is not my decision to dub for whom. I do not go to people and say that I want to dub for Bipasha. If someone comes to me and requests, then this is my profession. Why would I refuse.
In the conversation, Mona also told that she had given voice to Rani Mukherjee's character in the film Ghulam, although she did not like it at all. She said, Rani Mukherjee still says in every interview that she hates that voice. But this is not her fault. We get used to our own voice, in such a situation we are not able to adopt any other voice on our face. If any other voice is applied on our face, we will feel strange.
Let us tell you that Mona Ghosh has given voice to many actresses. She has become the voice of Deepika Padukone in the film Om Shanti Om, Amisha in Kaho Naa Pyar Hai and Katrina Kaif in Politics.
