Big News : Arunachal, Sikkim assembly election counting date changed | leader









Leader Online Desk : The Central Election Commission has today changed the date of counting of votes for the assembly elections of Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim. The counting of votes was earlier scheduled to take place on June 4. Now 'ANI' has reported that it will be held on June 2.

Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will go to polls in the first phase on April 19. The polling here was to be held on June 4. But now this has been changed. Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh assembly election results will be announced on June 2.

Assembly elections in four states will be held along with the Lok Sabha

Assembly elections in the states of Arunachal Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Odisha and Sikkim will also be held along with the Lok Sabha. Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh will go to polls in the first phase on April 19. Andhra Pradesh will go to polls on May 13. Polling in Odisha will be held in four phases. There will be four phases namely May 13, May 20, May 25 and June 1. The results of the elections in these four states will be announced on June 4.

YSR Congress won 151 seats in the last assembly elections in Andhra Pradesh. The party TDP was badly defeated. A few hours before the dates were announced, YSR Congress president Jaganmohan Reddy announced the list of candidates for the 175 assembly seats. Candidates were also announced for 25 Lok Sabha seats. In Arunachal Pradesh and Sikkim, the last dates for filing nominations are March 27 and March 28. Last date for filing candidature form in Odisha is 14th May.
