Leaders Online: The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two suspects from West Bengal in connection with the bomb blast at the famous Rameswaram Cafe in Bangalore. The suspects have been identified as Abdul Mateen Taha and Musavir Hussain Shajib. At least 10 people were injured in an IED blast at Rameswaram Cafe in Brookfield, Bangalore. Abdul Mateen Taha and Musavir Hussain Shajeb, fugitive suspects in the Rameswaram cafe blast case, were arrested from their hideout near Kolkata. Musawir Hussain Shajib planted the IED in the cafe and Abdul Mateen Taha was the mastermind behind the blast, the NIA said.
The NIA further said that the two had gone into hiding on fake identities. The NIA further said in a statement that the suspected accused were nabbed in a coordinated operation by the Central Intelligence Agency and police from West Bengal, Telangana, Karnataka and Kerala.
Shajib was using the name 'Mohammed Junaid Syed' to hide his identity. While Taha was using identity cards claiming to be a Hindu and a fake Aadhar card in the name of Vignesh, the NIA said.
On March 29, the NIA had released photographs and details of the two suspected accused. A reward of Rs 10 lakh was announced for information about the suspect in the case.
Last month, the NIA had arrested Muzammil Sharif, a resident of Chikkamangalur, for allegedly supplying logistics to the prime accused.
The absconders in the Rameswaram Cafe blast case, Adbul Matheen Taha and Mussavir Hussain Shazeb were traced out to their hideout near Kolkata and were apprehended by the NIA team.
