Babar Azam Pakistan Captain: Babar Azam is the new captain of Pakistan team, Shaheen Afridi sacked | leader

Captain Online Desk : Babar Azam Pakistan Captain : A sudden big change has been made in the Pakistan cricket team. Babar Azam has once again been made the team's captain in the ODI and T20 formats. The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) gave this information through a tweet on Sunday. The selection committee had recommended to PCB chairman Mohsin Naqvi that Babar be given the captaincy of the ODI and T20 teams.

Babar Azam had to step down as the captain of the Pakistan cricket team due to poor performance in the 2023 World Cup. He resigned from the captaincy of all three formats – ODI, T20 and Test – on 15 November 2023. After this, Shaheen Shah Afridi was made the ODI and T20I captain and Shan Masood was made the Test team captain. However, under Shaheen's leadership, Pakistan lost the five-match T20 series against New Zealand by 1-4. Also in the Pakistan Super League, the Lahore Qalandar team led by Afridi finished last in the points table. Taking note of this poor performance, PCB once again decided to give the captaincy to Babar Azam. But during the leadership change, they made Babar the captain of ODI and T20 formats. Therefore, Shan Masood will continue as Test captain. (Babar Azam Pakistan Captain)

According to Pakistani media, when Shaheen Shah Afridi was told that Babar Azam was being made the captain, the fast bowler expressed his displeasure. Also asked the question to the board, what went wrong in my leadership? Afridi only led the team on the tour of New Zealand, where the team suffered a crushing defeat. But how fair is it to change captains based on the result of just one series? Such a question is being raised. (Babar Azam Pakistan Captain)
