Read the highlights of the conversation with Ashish Vidyarthi…
How did you get involved with this project? I don't know how I got associated with this project but as soon as I got the offer, I felt that this is something new. I should definitely do it. When I got the opportunity, I thought that I should put my heart and soul into making it amazing. Although I have seen many Marvel projects before, but this is a new interesting character which is also very powerful. I was very excited about it during the entire dubbing session.
Did you take any reference to give voice to the character of 'Doom'? This is a new genre. In this, we create a world through sound which does not exist. But when people listen to it with their eyes closed, they will feel that the incident is happening in front of them. This is the most important part of a podcast series. The rest of the experiences that I have gained over the years have been put in this context.
Have you given voice for the second part of 'The Lion King' as well? This time I have done a great job. I hope the audience will like it. It was a great opportunity to lend my voice to a well-written project.
You have done many things in such a long career. What new things would you like to explore? The latest thing I have explored is the journey of stand up comedy. I have a show called 'Vitthal Kadiyaan' for which I recently performed in Kathmandu. After this I am also going to Chennai. I was waiting for someone to give me a good comedy role.
I want to do something new throughout my life. I always want to get something challenging. In the field of creativity, whether it is a main character, a food vlog or a travel vlog, there is a hunger to do something new. Amidst this hope, I got the character of 'Doom'. I have put the essence of everything that I learned in my entire career as input while giving voice to 'Doom'.
How did the idea of starting a food vlog apart from films come about? I don't know how it came but it happened. I don't do anything by thinking or designing something. Covid was ending and one of my friends said let's start a food vlog. I also said let's do it.
I am happy that through this I am able to help people doing small business. Other people also reach them through me. One of my specialties is that I find something extraordinary in what people call ordinary.
Do you feel that you are not getting such full-fledged negative roles anymore? It is nothing like that, as I get roles, I keep doing them. I have already done so much work. It is not right to keep doing the same thing. In this series, I got the character of Doom and I have given voice to it. Apart from this, 'Kill' has been released recently, 'Veda' has come, one or two more series are coming. I am doing many things simultaneously. Now I am excited about 'Marvels…'. Let's see what kind of response it gets from the people.
