Anurag Kashyap was battling depression: He had a heart attack and got addicted to alcohol, the director said- friends helped him overcome it

Filmmaker Anurag Kashyap is known for his outspokenness in Bollywood. He likes to speak openly on every issue. Even if it is about his personal life. Recently, during an interview, Anurag talked about his depression. He told that along with his friends, his daughter Alia Kashyap also helped him in coming out of depression. During depression, he had two heart attacks and became badly addicted to alcohol.

Anurag Kashyap was in depression for the last two years. It is said that after the uproar over the 'Tandav' series, many web shows and films released on OTT were either stopped or reworked. Anurag Kashyap's project 'Maximum City' was also among these. When the OTT platform withdrew its hands, Anurag Kashyap had to leave this project midway. Due to this, he went into depression and had two heart attacks. He became badly addicted to alcohol.

Recently, during an interview, Anurag Kashyap told that along with his friends, his daughter Alia Kashyap also helped him to come out of depression. He said- When I was struggling with alcohol addiction, Anubhav Sinha used to come to my house regularly. He always kept an eye on me to see how much alcohol and cigarettes I was drinking. One day he came to my house and along with my daughter, he threw away all the bottles of alcohol.

Anurag Kashyap said- Apart from Anubhav Sinha, Sudhir Mishra, Vikramaditya Motwani, Nawazuddin Siddiqui and Taapsee always kept an eye on me. I am very grateful to these people. They always wanted me to get well. Taapsee used to call me and the first thing she would ask was 'Are you alive? How is your health?'

Talking about the work front, Anurag Kashyap will be seen acting in Disney+ Hotstar's series 'Bad Cop'. Gulshan Devaiah, Harleen Sethi and Saurabh Sachdeva will be seen with him in it. This series will stream from June 21.
