Rajinikanth used to work as a side hero in the beginning of his career. The financial condition of the family was also not good. Once a producer cast him in a film. However, the producer was not paying the fees to the actor on time. When Rajinikanth talked to him about fees once or twice, he got upset. He even shouted and threw Rajinikanth out of the film.

After being fired from the film, Rajinikanth did not even have money to go home from the studio. Then the actor had covered the entire journey on foot.

This incident happened when Rajinikanth was not a superstar. He was working in only a few films. He was yet to emerge as a successful actor.

While narrating this anecdote at the audio launch of the 2020 film Darbar, Rajinikanth had said, 'The film 16 Vayadhinile was released. People started recognizing me on the streets because of my role. During this time, a producer offered me a good role in a film. I had demanded Rs 10,000 from him. However he reduced it to Rs 6 thousand.

After this I asked for 100 or 200 rupees to strengthen this verbal agreement, he said that some money will be available on the day of shooting. I believed the producer's words.

The producer shouted and threw Rajinikanth out of the film.

Rajinikanth had further said, 'Even when I went to the set, I did not get a single rupee. Then when I called the makers, they said that the payment will be made before the makeup is done. But still the fees were not received. Another hero had also come for shooting, but I refused to work.

The producer reached the studio in an Ambassador car. He shouted at me badly. I was thrown out of the project saying that I am not a big enough artist to create so much ruckus.

Rajinikanth did not even have money for rent

Rajinikanth had further said, 'I had no money. Because of this, I just walked back home, thinking about what had happened. On the way, I promised myself that if I did not enter the same studio in a foreign car, then I was not Rajinikanth.

Rajinikanth had fulfilled the promise he made to himself

Rajinikanth told that he got success after 2 years of hard work. After this he bought a foreign made Fiat car worth Rs 4.25 lakh. After this he also hired an Anglo Indian driver. After making all these arrangements, he went to the studio from where he was thrown out of the film.
