Firoz Khan, who was one of the most famous actors of Hindi films in the 1970s and 1980s, did not appear in films for many years after his death. After a long gap, Firoz appeared in the film 'Welcome' released in 2007. Now during an interview, the film's director Anees Bazmee revealed that Firoz probably knew about his illness during the shooting. But he did not let anyone know about it.

After the release of the film, Feroz Khan died in 2009 while battling lung cancer. Anees says that Feroz was not very excited to work in 'Welcome', but later he agreed to do the film.

Anees has been a fan of Firoz since the beginning

Anees talked about casting Feroz Khan in an interview given to Lahren. He said, I was a big fan of his from the beginning. I remembered many of his dialogues. When I recited his dialogues to Feroz Khan, he was shocked. He asked me how do I remember so many dialogues? I said- we all have been such big fans of yours, you have done such a good job. It is important to remember. Anees and Feroz Khan met during a dinner party after the success of the film 'No Entry'.

He was persuaded with great difficulty for the role of RDX

Anees said about his casting- I thought that no one could be better than him for the role of Uday Shetty and Majnu Shetty's boss in the film. But when I talked to him, he was not ready to do the film. Maybe he knew about his illness. He was not ready to do the film, I somehow convinced him to do this role. I told him that this is not such a big role. Your shoot will be done within three to four days. After hearing this, he said 'yes' to do the role.
