Leader Online Desk: From today (3rd), the price of Amul milk has been increased by Rs 2 across the country. Amul Gold, Amul Shakti, Amul Tea Special milk prices have been hiked. Now the price of Amul Gold will be Rs 66 per liter from Rs 64 per litre. The price of Amul Tea Special will increase from Rs 62 to Rs 64 per litre.
Gujarat Cooperative Milk Marketing Federation i.e. Amul said the increased prices are only 3-4 per cent, which is much less than food inflation. Prices had not increased since February 2023, so the increase was necessary. Amul claims that the price increase is due to increase in milk production and operational costs. Last year, Amul increased farmers' rates by an average of 6 to 8 percent. According to Amul's policy, 80 paise of every Rs 1 paid by consumers goes to the milk producer.
