Sonali Bendre told that in the 90s, there was a different definition of beauty standard in the film industry. When she entered the industry, she was very thin. There was no trend of zero figure at that time. In such a situation, the director used to ask him to gain weight. At that time, actresses with curly hair were more prevalent than straight hair.

Sonali has been a part of about 46 films so far.

Producers used to ask Sonali to gain weight

In an interview given to Hauterrfly, Sonali said- When I came into the industry, heroines were not thin. I was very thin at that time. Every producer was always asking me to gain weight. They used to tell me the same thing – eat, eat, become very thin.

At that time, producers in the film industry used to cast such actresses in films who were visually attractive, who had a shapely body and curly hair. My look was just the opposite. I was thin and my hair was straight.

Sonali further said that people have probably set a standard as to what looks good and what doesn't. But we should be confident about our own looks.

Apart from Hindi, Sonali has also worked in Tamil, Telugu and Marathi films.

Sonali entered the world of films with the 1994 film Aag. Govinda was seen opposite her in the film. From then till now Sonali has been active in films.
