Bollywood actor Akshay Kumar, popularly known as Khiladi Kumar among his fans, is celebrating his 57th birthday today.

'I don't think so much… so what if 4-5 films didn't do well… people are sending me such sad messages… 'Sorry friend… don't worry… everything will be fine…' Hey… am I not dead?

A journalist messaged me- Don't worry, you will also go back. What do you mean by back? Where have I gone? I am here and will keep working hard… whatever I earn, I earn it on my own… I have never asked for anything from anyone… and I will keep working till my death…'

Akshay Kumar got emotional while saying this at the event of his recently released film 'Khel Khel Mein'. Why not? Since the release of Suryavanshi in 2021, 10 out of the actor's last 12 films have been flops. However, this is not the first time this has happened in Akshay's career.

Today on Akshay's 57th birthday, let's first take a look at the actor's ups and downs in his career…

I did not know how to act, I had come only to earn money Akshay made his Bollywood debut in 1991 with the film 'Saugandh'. In an interview from his early days, Akshay had said, 'I came to the industry only to earn money. I did not know acting at all. I used to teach boxing in Bangkok for a month and I used to get 5 thousand rupees.

He entered the industry with a cheque of Rs 5001 One day a student's father asked me to try modeling. I did it and worked for just two hours and got Rs 21,000. After this I decided that I would become a model.

I also did ramp walk and while doing so, someone offered me a film. I remember at 6:30 in the evening, a director gave me a cheque of Rs 5001 and that's how I entered the industry.

Akshay came to Mumbai and started his career as a model.

Movies flopping is a great alarm button I came to films from modelling. I did action in films because that was what I knew… gradually I did comedy and romantic films. There was a time when 16 of my films did not work… once 8 of them flopped in a row.

So this has happened to me before.. and it is a great alarm button that rings when your films flop.

Now I work because I enjoy it People look at him with surprise that he does so many films, what else should I do? I will get up in the morning, I have to go to work, everything is given by God.

I have earned so much that even if I sit idle today, there is no problem… but what about the rest of the people who are sitting idle and want to work.

Now I don't work because I want to earn money.. I do it because I enjoy it.. I am passionate. The day I feel that tomorrow I have to get up and go to work.. that day I will stop working.

I heard that Akshay is disciplined: Sunil Darshan Dainik Bhaskar spoke to filmmaker Sunil Darshan about Akshay's current career. He said, 'In the initial phase, dozens of his films flopped. At that time I was making a film with Sunny Deol on which both of us could not agree.

I was thinking of casting a new hero in the film when one day I got a call from Akshay and I met him.

Till then, I had not seen many of his films, but had heard a lot about him in the industry that he is a very disciplined boy.

After 'Jaanwar' we did 7 films together He was handsome but his talent was not coming out clearly. After 'Jaanwar', I did 7 films with him because he won my trust as an actor. Our bond became very strong during that period.

Sometimes actors get confused On Akshay's current career, Sunil said, 'Even actors get the illusion that it is me who is doing everything because nowadays the whole movie is based on him and he also takes a lot of money.

There was a time when Akshay had many plus points. He used to give his full time to cinema and was disciplined, but when a person works in the industry for 30 to 35 years, a mechanical process develops inside him.

Do a good job even if you do less Sunil further said, 'Everything that goes up also goes down. The important thing is that if a person improves himself in the downward phase, then everything becomes fine.

Amitabh also went through this phase, but then he improved his choices. It is very important to have a good selection of work.

Do 3 films instead of 4 but do them better. There is a herd mentality going on in the entire industry, so you will keep getting work even after being a flop.

'Baazigar' was rejected – Vivek Sharma Director Vivek Sharma, while remembering Akshay of the 90s, said, 'At that time he had given a hit film like 'Khiladi' with Abbas Mastan, but he did not want to work with the same director again and again, so he rejected 'Baazigar'.

Then he did 'Aflatoon' and 'Mr. and Mrs. Khiladi', but despite being big films, many of his films flopped.

Was entangled in personal life and relationship Vivek further said, 'He was too entangled in his personal life and relationships at that time. He is very talented and there has never been a better action hero than him.

On the sets of the film 'Angaare' he jumped from one building to another in front of me without any safety. No one can match him in action but back then he did not take his work seriously. That focus and dedication came quite late.

Akshay and Twinkle did films like 'International Khiladi' and 'Zulmi' together in 1999. Two years later, on 17 January 2001, both of them got married.

People thought that this hero doesn't listen at all I remember he had refused to change his hairstyle in 'Dil Toh Pagal Hai', so some banners started avoiding coming near him because they felt that the hero doesn't listen to them.

When many of his films flopped, he took a break for a year, lost 12 kgs and also changed his hairstyle and came back with 'Jaanwar'.
