Akhilesh Yadav in 'central' politics, who will be UP opposition leader?

Leader Online Desk : In the recently held Lok Sabha elections, the Samajwadi Party got a landslide victory in Uttar Pradesh. It has won 37 out of 80 seats in the state. Due to this success, now party chief Akhilesh Yadav will participate in central politics full-time. Due to this, he will leave the post of Leader of Opposition in Uttar Pradesh Vidhan Sabha, and the attention of the political circle has drawn attention to who will be appointed in his place.

'These' names are in the forefront

SP president Akhilesh Yadav is now going to do central politics. Three names are currently being seriously considered to replace him as Leader of the Opposition. These include the names of Akhilesh Yadav's uncle Shivpal Singh Yadav, Ram Achal Rajbhar and Indrajit Saroj. All three are national general secretaries of the Samajwadi Party. The main contender is Akhilesh Yadav's uncle and Jaswantnagar MLA Shivpal.

'SP' will also consider caste equation, the name of Indrajit Saroj is being discussed

A six-time MLA, Shivpal has also been the Leader of the Opposition from 2009 to 2012. Keeping in view the 2027 assembly elections, the party is also trying to create communal equations. In such a situation, the party is also considering the name of a very backward and Dalit leader for the post. Five-time MLA Indrajit Saroj is the main contender among Dalit leaders. Kaushambi's Manzanpur Constituency MLA Indrajit has been Social Welfare Minister in BSP's Mayawati government. This time his son Pushpendra Saroj has been elected MP from Kaushambi.

Ram Achal Rajbhar's name is also in discussion

The name of MLA Ram Achal Rajbhar of Akbarpur constituency of Ambedkar Nagar is also being discussed. A six-time MLA, Rajbhar was the transport minister in the Mayawati government between 2007 and 2012. They are believed to have a good effect in backward castes. It is believed that the SP President may hand over the Leader of Opposition to one of them soon.

SP will also get the post of Leader of Opposition in Uttar Pradesh Legislative Council

After two years, SP will again get the post of Leader of the Opposition in the Legislative Council. In July 2022, Lal Bihari Yadav was stripped of the post as the SP had less than 10 percent membership. Now SP has 10 members in the 100-seat Legislative Council, in which case the party will get the post of Leader of the Opposition. Samajwadi Party leaders have also drawn attention to who will be listed here.
