Ajay Devgan and Tabu are currently busy promoting their upcoming film 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha'. Meanwhile, both of them talked about their iconic films 'Zakhm' and 'Virasat'.
While Ajay told that he signed 'Zakhm' while taking bath, Tabu told that she signed the film 'Virasat' without listening to the script.
Apart from 'Zakhm', Ajay and Mahesh have also worked together in the film 'Naajayaz' released in 1995.
And Bhatt sahab started telling the story: Ajay
In an interview with Lallantop, Ajay told how he was offered Zakhm. Ajay said, 'I was shooting in Hyderabad. We did not have phones at that time. I was taking a shower when the landline phone rang. When I picked it up, Mahesh (Bhatt) sir was on the other side.
He said- 'I am directing the last film of my career and after this I will not make films.' I replied to him- 'Bhatt sahab I am taking a shower..' But Bhatt sahab started narrating the story of the film. After this I told him- 'Bhatt sahab I am taking a bath. I will definitely do this film.' And this is how I got 'Zakhm'.
Mahesh Bhatt directed the film 'Sadak 2' which was released in 2020, 22 years after 'Zakhm'.
Tabu trusts Priyadarshan
When Tabu was asked if she has signed any film in a hurry, she said- 'I have signed many films in a hurry. This has happened many times in Priyadarshan's films.
I have never heard the script and narration of 'Virasat' and 'Kala Paani' because I trust them a lot.
Tabu was seen opposite Anil Kapoor in Priyadarshan's film 'Virasat'.
'Zakhm' was based on Mahesh Bhatt's real life
'Virasat', released in 1997, was directed by Priyadarshan. Anil Kapoor, Amrish Puri, Tabu and Pooja Batra were seen in lead roles in the film. It was a remake of Kamal Haasan's film 'Thevar Magan' released in 1992.
'Zakhm', released in 1998, was based on the life of director Mahesh Bhatt's mother. Apart from Ajay, actors like Pooja Bhatt, Nagarjuna, Sonali Bendre and Kunal Khemu were also seen in this film.
'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' is the 11th film of Tabu and Ajay together.
Tabu and Ajay's film 'Auron Mein Kahan Dum Tha' will be released in theatres on August 2. Jimmy Shergill will also be seen in an important role in it. This romantic film is directed by Neeraj Pandey.
