The blast, which took place at 8.30 am on Thursday near the Kabul Bank branch in Kandahar, was aimed at targeting Taliban army personnel, according to a report. It is reported that at least eight Taliban soldiers were injured in the blast. No group has claimed responsibility for the incident. Police officials have said that the area has been sealed and the movement of the general public has been stopped. A tight security will be maintained in the area until the investigation is completed.
According to the Taliban government, the government employees had come to the Kabul Bank branch in Kandahar city to collect their salaries. This time there was a long queue of employees. At the same time, around 8:30 in the morning, a person suddenly blew himself up with explosives. At this time, some civilians had to lose their lives on the spot. Many died before treatment in the hospital. The other injured are undergoing treatment. But the death toll may rise. “No terrorist group has yet claimed responsibility for this attack,” he said.
