Adhar Card : Big news! Another extension of deadline for free update of Aadhaar card









Leaders Online Desk: Aadhaar card has gained special importance in the country. Along with proof of citizenship, Aadhaar cards are required for everything from opening a bank account to buying land or a house. Meanwhile, it is important to update the Aadhaar card. Currently UIDAI is providing free Aadhaar card updating facility. Now UIDAI has extended the deadline for updating Aadhaar card till September.

Once again UIDAI has extended the deadline for free update of Aadhaar card. Earlier this deadline was 14 June 2024, it has now been extended to 14 September 2024. That means those who have not yet updated their Aadhaar card, can update Aadhaar without any charges till September 14.

The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has extended the deadline for updating the Aadhaar card several times, providing the facility to update the Aadhaar card made 10 years ago for free. Its deadline has been extended several times. Last March too, the last date to use the service for free was extended from March 14 to June 14, 2024. Now it has been extended from June 14 to September 14. Citizens have now been given two months to update their free Aadhaar card.

Fees to be paid after September 14!

Last date for free update of Aadhaar card is 14 September 2024. After this, citizens will have to pay money to update Aadhaar card. Specially, this free Aadhaar card update service provided by UIDAI is available only on the myAadhaar portal. While extending the deadline for this service, UIDAI had said through social media that people are being encouraged to update their Aadhaar documents.

Aadhaar card update can be done like this

  • First of all, official website of UIDAI https://uidai.gov.in/ Log in to
  • Now go to My Aadhaar Portal on the homepage.
  • Login using Aadhaar number and OTP received on registered mobile number.
  • After this, check your details and if the details are correct, tick the appropriate box.
  • If the demographic information is found to be incorrect, select Identity Document from the drop-down menu and upload the document.
  • This document can be uploaded as JPEG, PNG and PDF.
