These days, Daljeet Kaur is going through a difficult divorce process from Kenya-based businessman Nikhil Patel. According to the actress, she is no longer ready for love because she has faced a lot of difficulties in her marriage, first with Shalin Bhanot and now with Nikhil.
Let us tell you, Daljeet married Nikhil Patel in March 2023 and after that she shifted to Kenya with her son Jordan. After eight months, Daljeet returned to India with her son and hinted at divorce through social media. Jordan is the son of her first husband Shalin Bhanot and Daljeet. Both their marriages ended in 2015.
Did not go to Nikhil's house as his guest: Daljeet
During a conversation with Dainik Bhaskar, on the divorce process, Daljeet said, 'My fight for justice is still going on. I am standing up for my rights through court and legal processes on what happened during the marriage. Nikhil is trying to prove that we were not married, but I am proving with all my might that I was married. I did not go to anyone's house as their guest.
I want justice and it's every woman's right
Daljeet said that this whole process is very sad and humiliating. 'If they were able to prove that the marriage did not take place, it would be shameful. But if this does not happen, then I hope that she gets such a severe punishment that no other girl faces such betrayal in future. I want justice and it is the right of every woman. This is not just about me, my parents, my son, everyone deserves this justice. I will continue the fight. Because I am sure that the truth is with me.
Don't wait for next life for justice
He further said, 'I do not understand much about courts, but I am confident that God will do justice. I don't want to wait for the next life, I want justice in this life. I am fighting for my rights and respect at every level and will continue to fight.
People say – I see you keep singing sad songs, but what should I do?
Daljeet further said, 'People often say to me that 'when you see, you keep singing Dukhda', but what should I do? Whatever happened, happened. I have seen wonderful things in my life, but I have also seen things that perhaps no one else can see.
Both men ran away from their responsibilities
Is Dalljiet Kaur ready for love again? 'No. My love is my son, my family, I am very happy, my family, my friends all hold me in their palm like this. And now I want to prove them right. Now I have to make my son's life very good. I guess, that's why both men walked out of my life. What responsibility? Doesn't anyone want responsibility? I am alone a lot, so I will take care of Jiden, take care of my parents. And I am fine.
Being a single parent is a superpower
During the conversation, Dalljiet Kaur described her journey to single motherhood as an experience like a superpower. “Being a single parent is a superpower in a weird way, because I'm responsible for everything,” she said. No matter what, I try to do everything from my side. This feeling of ownership is very deep. Single parenting requires doing everything on your own, but when I look at our relationship with our son, it is so deep and special. Perhaps this depth is not present in normal husband-wife relationships. There is a different excitement in single parenting.
I was very nervous in the beginning
Recalling her early days of single parenting, Daljeet said, 'When Jaden was very small, it was a big challenge for me to provide for his basic needs. The experience of new motherhood, physical changes and sudden responsibilities made me quite nervous. That time was very difficult, because not only was there a shortage of money, but I was also trying to take care of myself mentally and emotionally.
However, Daljeet described confidence and hard work as his biggest support in this journey. 'I have confidence in my hard work and honesty. I know that if anything happens, I can still work as a receptionist. I am educated and capable enough to raise my son. Change keeps happening in life and we should accept it. I also adopted it and learned from it. Today, I can say with full confidence that I am ready to deal with any situation.
