Action will be taken against false posts on social media leader









New Delhi, Leading News Service: The Central Election Commission on Monday (6th) has given a stern warning to the political parties who are campaigning by posting false and misleading posts on social media. The Election Commission has also warned that if false and misleading posts are not deleted within three hours, strict action will be taken.

The Election Commission has issued some guidelines to ensure that there is no violation of the model code of conduct in campaigning on social media. The Election Commission has given important notices to all political parties regarding making deep fake videos and misuse of AI based tools. The Election Commission has issued guidelines under the Information and Technology Act 2000 and the Information and Technology (Central Guidelines and Digital Media Code of Conduct) Rules 2021 as well as the Indian Penal Code and the Representation of the People Act 1950 and 1951. The Election Commission has also warned of stern action if the DP publishes fake audios and videos, posts that insult women, and posts that show violence against children and animals for campaigning purposes.
