Leaders Online Desk: Deputy Governor of Delhi VK Saxena, well-known writer Arundhati Roy and former professor of Central University of Kashmir Dr. Sheikh Shaukat Hussain has been sanctioned for prosecution under the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act or UAPA. He has been accused of giving a 'provocative' speech at a conference organized under the banner of 'Azadi – The Only Way'.
The case he stated is from 2010. Sushil Pandit filed a complaint in the court on October 28, 2010. Then on November 27, the court ordered to register an FIR. A case was registered within a month after this. The complainant filed the complaint in New Delhi.

Writer Arundhati Roy and former professor of Kashmir Madhya University Dr. Sheikh Shaukat Hussain delivered provocative speeches at a conference organized under the banner 'Azadi – The Only Way' in New Delhi on 21 October 2010. Among the issues discussed in this conference was the campaign to 'separate Kashmir from India'. Speakers at the conference included Syed Ali Shah Geelani, SAR Geelani, Arundhati Roy, Dr. Sheikh Shaukat Hussain was included.
Gilani and Arundhati Roy claimed that Kashmir was never a part of India. It has been forcibly captured by the Indian Army. He had also said that all efforts should be made to get freedom of Jammu and Kashmir from India. Sushil Pandit, the petitioner, had objected to the speeches in this program. For this, he had submitted the recording of this speech before the police.
